For most of my career, I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade gifted students. Since retirement in 2010, I have enjoyed participating in classes at both ICLRU and Harper. At ICLRU, I have also enjoyed coordinating study groups in religion and bridge, participating in various social activities, and traveling with ICL members. Through these varied activities, I have made many new friends. I am now looking forward to working with other members of the Board of Directors to further promote the outstanding programs at ICLRU.

Vice-President
I joined ICL six years ago. After attending the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana, I worked for a while in the investment world. After that I ran the inside sales departments in the container industry and the art publishing business. I realized that I liked art and the selling end of it and so started my own Wholesale Art Company. The last 18 years of my career I spent running Henrietta Leary Fine Art. I retired and sold the business in 2007 and have been loving being retired ever since. I am married with one husband and one dog.

John Wiese
John joined ICLRU in 2003 while still operating a one-person marketing research consultancy in Arlington Heights.
Within a year he joined the Advisory Board and conducted his first study group on the history of Italian Renaissance Art. In subsequent years he served as chair of the Outreach and Marketing committees and led more than a dozen study groups on subjects including Leonardo DaVinci, English, American, and Chinese history, computers, folk music, and others.
The outreach and marketing committees developed and ran a “Taste of ICL” to attract new members and an intercollegiate Lifelong Learning Conference to share experiences and practices with similar collegiate organizations. Other accomplishments include the creation of ICL’s first membership survey, the purchase and setup of ICL’s own computers on wheels (COWS), design of study group brochures and establishment of a Teaching Company video library.
While serving as the ICL-Roosevelt liaison in the administrative office John implemented the ICL membership database and technical help desk service.
