Alfredo Rodriguez
Alfredo Rodriguez was a manager, thermal process authority, engineering-scientist, and technical leader who specialized in industrial process, quality and sterilization. His experience includes commercial and terminal sterilization of food products (including low acid canned foods and acidified foods), drugs and medical devices.
He has more than 20 years of professional experience as a process, sterilization and quality engineer.
His work was mostly related to sterilization using diverse technologies such as steam (moist-heat), gas (ethylene oxide), radiation, ultra-high pressure, etc. The approach developed makes extensive use of quality engineering and process engineering advanced techniques.
Since 2009, Alfredo has served as Senior Consultant for PQS Technologies, LLC, in Arlington Heights, IL. This is a consulting company dedicated to process, quality and sterilization technologies. He was also a Sr. Scientist for Wornick Foods in Cincinnati, OH from January, 2012 to July 2013, and October 2013 to retirement in November 2015. He has also served as a Director of Engineering, /Research Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, National Center for Food Safety and Technology and an Engineering Specialist, Sr. Principal Engineer, Section Manager at Baxter Healthcare Corp.
Alfredo received his B. Sc. Biochemical Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City, Mexico; his M. Sc. Food Science from the National Polytechnic Institute, in Mexico City, Mexico; and his Ph. D. Agricultural and Food Engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida.
Alfredo is currently a student and coordinator at the Institute for Continued Learning at Roosevelt University, Schaumburg, IL. 2010 to date.
