Andrea Zietlow

As a retired teacher, education has always been an important part of my life. Since joining ICL, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed participating in study groups, bridge, book discussions, field trips, and even traveling around the world with the Intrepid Travel Club.

The camaraderie of the members has provided many opportunities to make new friends.

I find it very rewarding to serve as Chair of Program Development, coordinate both study groups and intersession classes, coordinate the Multicultural Themes Book Club, and to have served on the ICL Board as President, Vice President, and Secretary.

I hope that you, too, will take advantage of the many wonderful opportunities that ICL offers.

Prior to retirement, my husband of 50 years spent 20 years in the Air Force and Government Service. During this time, I had the opportunity to expand my education through living and traveling in various parts of the United States and even spending two years in Turkey. As a result of this traveling, I’ve taught students in all grades from K-8; however, the majority of my career was spent teaching gifted students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin (Madison), a Master’s Degree in Reading Education from the University of Central Oklahoma, Graduate work in Gifted Education from Oklahoma City University, and an Ed.D. from Northern Illinois in Curriculum and Instruction.
