Nancy Mieszala

I grew up on the north side of Chicago and attended Felician College and DePaul University.

For much of my professional life I worked as a legal secretary at two large Chicago law firms in their suburban offices. I loved my job and my bosses. I had worked in accounting for a number of years, but I always went back to law.

I volunteered for Lambs’ Farm, teaching tennis to adult athletes at a Libertyville tennis club. I taught English to nonnative speakers at the Read to Learn program. I am a greeter at my Church and work in the food pantry.

One of my dear friends, Natalie Salat, introduced me to ICL and I’m now a believer in the program: the peer coordinators are fantastic and their classes are marvelous. I am meeting new friends and always learning new things at ICL, which has greatly enhanced my life.
