I spent 50 years in newspapers as a graphic artist. The last 40 years were with the Daily Herald. I retired in 2009.
A friend told me about ICL and I joined later that year. I’ve been hooked ever since. The enthusiasm of the participants in the study groups was and is contagious.
I gave my first study group presentation, about the history of GPS, in 2017. I found that digging into a subject is the real fun of doing a study group. My background in graphic arts and illustration and the graphic computer programs has helped in my presentations.
I also have given short presentations on two Italian Renaissance artists and two notable scientists. My interests are mainly in history, science and art — all have been the subjects of many ICL study sessions that I have enjoyed.
