As a newly retired teacher, I found I needed to continue to learn, so finding ICL was a lifesaver. I have been taking and leading classes since 2002. Enlightening, engaging, and fun!
The highlight of the Virtual Classes for me is seeing familiar faces I’ve been missing. I recommend the classes to members and encourage those who participate to spread the word!

I am a retired Senior Vice President from Northern Trust. I held numerous positions during my 15 year tenure from client servicing to project management. Currently I am the President of my HOA, a former co-director of an older adult social group and a volunteer assisting a blind woman. My interests are reading and exercising, especially walking.
I have been a lifelong learner so ICL is the perfect place for me in retirement. Julia Cameron’s Artist Way tools (Morning Pages and Artist Dates) have been an important part of my life for 20+ years.
Christopher spent 33 years as an elementary public school teacher. He’s been a member of ICL since 2003. He coordinated the study group, Words without Borders with his wife, Carol and currently co-coordinates the study group Experiencing Art.
I immigrated to the United States from the Philippines in 1965 and attended Youngstown State University for 3 years with a degree in Business and Accounting. Upon graduation I was drafted into the US Army where I spent a year during the height of the Viet Nam conflict.
Upon discharge from the military my career in Illinois took me to different types of challenging work including Accounting, Internal Auditing, Mainframe Computer Programming and Project Management for the State of Illinois.
Alfredo Rodriguez was a manager, thermal process authority, engineering-scientist, and technical leader who specialized in industrial process, quality and sterilization. His experience includes commercial and terminal sterilization of food products (including low acid canned foods and acidified foods), drugs and medical devices.
He has more than 20 years of professional experience as a process, sterilization and quality engineer.

This Study Group was presented by Judy Krakowiak and Mariann Fitzgerald.
It was fun doing this class, chatting with the other women and seeing everyone’s beautiful art work. Judy is great; very patient and very funny. She makes it look easy. Just follow her instructions and you will have beautiful gift bags to share or maybe not share.
